Quality of Experience

The Quality of Experience module analyzes logged content continuously for a variety of signal faults. With flexible, individually-settable alert thresholds, notifications are delivered via e-mail or SNMP traps. The quality measurement thresholds are configured per channel to optimize performance and error reporting.

The following are the attributes of the quality experience module function:

fault clips

  • Static Screen (SS) - Percentage of static scenery in the display for a user specified span of time
  • No Video – Loss of video sync for a user specified span of time
  • Audio Level (AL) – Peak Audio level of the received signal measured for a user specified span of time

If a video fault is detected, an alarm is generated and full motion video clip of the error is stored in the “Fault Clips” section. The fault clips can be viewed locally on the Observer by clicking on the alarm as shown below.

One application is to enable systems engineers and other personnel first hand review of audio and video from the time when a problem occurred. In addition, video clips facilitate sharing with other users of the Observer system, E-mail to business partners, and export to your PC for later review.

A list of clips is available on the client user’s screen and is searchable and can be exported for reporting purposes. A view of one of the clip windows is provided below.

Opening the report with Excel spreadsheet will display different clip parameters in separate columns.
