As the industry standard for video monitoring and logging, the new Volicon Observer® family of products captures, stores, and indexes broadcast content from multiple channels, offering users simultaneous, 24/7 access to video from their desktop computers.

The Observer product family now includes:

Designed specifically for budget-conscious television stations and organizations that require simplified workflows for media monitoring, the Observer Professional includes an intuitive, streamlined user interface for both Mac® and PC platforms, and features that enable quick and easy scheduling, recording, and enhanced searching with auto-complete technology on key media mentions in the video stream. The optional Electronic Programming Guide (EPG)-based Scheduled Recording Module enables scheduled, selective recording of specific broadcast channels within designated time periods. The Observer Professional supports one to four channel inputs and up to five concurrent users, and offers up to 90 days of storage for archived video. 

Add-on Modules

Add-on modules extend the Observer’s capabilities and make it even more indispensible for monitoring, managing, and monetizing broadcast content. The modules include:

• Producer module provides a cost-effective means for broadcasters to capture and repurpose their content in a variety of different industry-standard formats, which can then be made available for sale to third parties such as other news organizations, Web sites, or the viewing public
• Content Matching module enables operators to flag and access specific audio cues when they appear in a broadcast
• Quality of Experience module provides real-time alarms for faulty video, audio, and closed captioning by issuing alerts via email/SNMP with direct link to content and master fault log
• As Run Log Import module facilitates automatic import of as-run logs via user-identifiable watch folders. Provides search and sort As-Run Log in Observer via ID or commercial/program name for quick and easy ad verification with direct link to video content
• Scheduled Recording module provides hardware and software to remotely schedule and automate selective scanning of stations
• Tribune Media Services EPG module
