Observer® TS
The new Observer® TS (transport stream) logging system gives broadcasters, networks, and cable operators the ability to handle MPEG-2 and MPEG-4 transport streams natively and efficiently over a WAN with a low-resolution proxy, retaining the content and associated metadata within the stream. Complementing existing Observer Enterprise analog, SD-SDI, and HD-SDI systems, this new interface simplifies signal flow, allows for greater signal density and flexibility, and enables full-quality content logging, thereby opening the door to new use cases for logged content such as rebroadcasting high-resolution data, interactive content, and dialnorm reporting. Using Observer TS for compliance logging and air checks, operators can easily extract MPEG metadata and troubleshoot the MPEG transport stream live or from the Observer log.

Observer® Mobile
Observer® Mobile is a Web-based interface that supports H.264 on Apple® iOS devices using the Safari Web browser with native support for iPad® and iPhone® devices. Observer Mobile provides greater flexibility, unsurpassed portability, and the added convenience of accessing live Observer streaming along with back navigation of previously recorded content from both local and remote locations. The ability to play, pause, search, and create logged content on demand using smart devices provides broadcasters instant access to the final broadcast product to ensure quality, compliance, and communication within the media enterprise.

Observer® Professional Built on Silverlight™
Based on Microsoft® Silverlight™, the Observer® Professional includes an intuitive, streamlined user interface for both Mac® and PC platforms that supports Internet Explorer®, Safari®, Google Chrome™, and Firefox® browsers, as well as integrated export functionality to H.264, Flash®, MPEG-2, or MPEG-4. The versatile system includes improved streaming capabilities and gives users the flexibility to export video files in .ASF (WM9), H.264, Flash, MPEG-2, or MPEG-4 formats. By employing Silverlight for the Observer Pro, Volicon has gained access to a rich array of building blocks, which Volicon engineering and product design teams can quickly customize in response to prioritized customer feedback and requirements.
Content Matching Module
The Content Matching Module (CMM) for Volicon Observer® systems enables operators to flag and access specific audio cues when they appear in a broadcast. Using a prerecorded segment, the CMM creates an audio fingerprint database that is continuously checked against the incoming stream for a match. When the audio appears in a broadcast, the system provides an immediate alert and notification to the operator along with immediate access to the video in which the segment occurred. The matched content is added to a log that can be referenced along with clips that can be shared, within the organization and beyond, to provide all the evidence necessary for regulatory, copyright, and ad placement inquiries.
