Volicon Signs Gencom Technology to Distribute Observer® Logging and Monitoring Solutions
BURLINGTON, Mass. — June 2, 2009 — Volicon today announced that it has forged a partnership with Gencom Technology to distribute Volicon’s award-winning video logging, monitoring, and streaming solutions in New Zealand, Australia, Thailand, and Singapore. Gencom’s representation will enable Volicon to expand its presence in the rapidly evolving Southeast Asian broadcasting marketplace.
“We have investigated many different logging and monitoring systems, and the Volicon Observer® is far superior both in technology excellence and robust capabilities,” said Ray Sanders, CEO of Gencom. “In Australia and New Zealand, many broadcasters have implemented some form of computer-based monitoring but there is still a strong requirement for monitoring systems that run in an IP environment, like the Observer. In Southeast Asia, in many cases, the monitoring function is still being handled with tape- based systems and broadcasters are looking to upgrade their facilities to digital operations. Therefore, we believe Volicon will be very successful in both markets.”
“We’re very excited about the enormous potential for our digital content monitoring and logging solutions in the Australasian marketplace. With its 40-year track record of supplying the region’s most advanced video solutions, Gencom is the ideal partner to help us expand our presence there,” said Julius Perl, vice president of marketing for Volicon. “Gencom’s experience in building and outfitting major production facilities reflects the company’s depth of expertise and stellar reputation among the broader broadcasting community.”
